Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of AnimeJanaru. By creating an account or purchasing Premium, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. You may use the local editor without creating an account.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an AnimeJanaru account. If the law where you live requires parental or guardian consent at a higher age, you may use an account only with valid authorization. You must be legally able to enter into a paid subscription or have permission from the person responsible for the payment method.

2. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your password and devices, and notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised. Do not share credentials in a way that allows unauthorized access to another person’s private content.

3. Local-first storage

AnimeJanaru can store writing locally in your browser without an account. Local browser storage is convenient but is not a guaranteed backup. Browser cleanup, private-browsing restrictions, device loss, software changes, or clearing site data can permanently remove local content.

4. Free cloud limits and Premium subscriptions

AnimeJanaru may offer Free account cloud sync subject to entry/device limits shown in the app. AnimeJanaru may also offer paid Premium features such as higher or unlimited cloud entry/device limits, cloud photo backup, synced personalization, restore features, and additional account functionality. Prices, billing frequency, trial information, and taxes are shown before checkout.

Unless the checkout page says otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel through the billing controls made available in your account. Cancellation normally stops future renewals while allowing access through the end of the already-paid billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where a specific refund policy presented at checkout says otherwise.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider. AnimeJanaru does not store complete payment-card numbers.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the notes, journal entries, photos, and other content you create or upload. You give AnimeJanaru only the limited rights necessary to host, store, transmit, process, back up, and display your content back to you as needed to operate the features you choose.

AnimeJanaru does not claim ownership of your private writing. We do not obtain a license to sell your journal content or use it for advertising merely because you store it with the service.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use AnimeJanaru to break the law, attack or disrupt the service, gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts, distribute malware, commit fraud, infringe intellectual-property rights, exploit or endanger minors, or store/distribute content where doing so would itself be unlawful.

We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, address security threats, prevent abuse, or enforce these Terms.

7. AnimeJanaru artwork and service materials

The AnimeJanaru name, interface, original artwork, design elements, code, and service materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws except where third-party rights apply. These Terms do not transfer ownership of AnimeJanaru materials to you. You may use the service for its intended personal functionality, but you may not reproduce or resell the service itself without permission.

8. Third-party services

AnimeJanaru relies on third-party infrastructure and services, including hosting, authentication, cloud storage, transactional email, and payment providers. Their availability and terms can affect parts of AnimeJanaru. Third-party websites or services you choose to visit are governed by their own terms.

9. Service changes and availability

We may improve, modify, add, remove, or discontinue features. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption to saved content, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed. Maintenance, provider outages, security incidents, network problems, or changes outside our control may temporarily affect the service.

10. Account termination and deletion

You may stop using AnimeJanaru at any time. Account deletion tools may be available within the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations of these Terms, fraud, security abuse, or legal requirements. Some records may be retained after deletion when reasonably necessary for billing, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, backups, or legal obligations.

11. Disclaimers

AnimeJanaru is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise that the service will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or immune from data loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AnimeJanaru will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, including loss of locally stored data. Where liability cannot be excluded, AnimeJanaru’s aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid AnimeJanaru during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $100, unless applicable law requires a different result.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence applies.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. The effective date at the top will change when revisions are made. If a material change affects registered users, we may provide additional notice through the service or by email. Continuing to use an account after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
